nanoZONE: A Handy Nanotechnology Primer
See the referenced article at: http://www.nanozone.org
Ever have your kids ask you about Nanotechnology and found yourself stumped? This promising field of science and technology deserves some measure of lucid explanation to any curious child.
The nanoZONE is a creation of the Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS) at the University of California at Berkeley. The LHS is a well-known resource center for pre-K through 12 science and math education. They also run a science center where kids can experience hands-on, various scientific phenomena.
The nanoZone hosts videos – like this one that drives home the idea of just how small a nanometer is; and flash presentations that explain this rather obtuse area of research to school-age students in a manner they can understand. More importantly the presentations strive to put the importance of Nanotechnology in the context of other current scientific trends.
A convenient site-map is also provided.
